      Founding and Early Years: Antique Bourbon was one of the major brands produced by Frankfort Distilling Company, which was established in 1902 when several rectifying companies merged. This company was known for other brands as well, including Old Oscar Pepper and Mattingly and Moore.              Prohibition Era: In 1920, during Prohibition, Frankfort Distilling Company was one of the six companies granted a permit to sell medicinal whiskey, which allowed it to continue operations legally.
